SEPTEMBER NEWS

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18 (NKJV)

In the July newsletter I wrote about God’s perfect timing and provision.  I mentioned that through prayer and fasting God blessed Antioch with an incredible building to rent.  Since my last writing, God has done some amazing things. Things that just make you stop and say WOW!

I am not one to count people on any given Sunday, but it is impossible to miss the increase.  As many as you know Antioch began translating the message on Sunday mornings.  We have averaged three or four Spanish speakers each week and on average 45 people on Sundays.  Our opening Sunday, July 20th, we had over 75 people show up to the service. I thought I was really stepping out in faith to purchase an additional 50 chairs for Sunday morning services only to almost run out.  In all honesty, I thought, “well it is a new building and people want to see.”  The following week we almost broke a hundred people.  Many of our new visitors were Spanish speaking folks.  Needless to say the blessing and excitement is over-flowing.  God is up to something awesome!

As the pastor at Antioch, I must confess that this is quite scary to me on many different levels.  I know what is happening is completely beyond me.  But, that is when I must rely on God’s truth and not my immediate feelings.  God’s word tells us; there is no fear in love, love casts out ALL fear. Therefore I will abide and trust in His perfect love for me and through me. Let me ask you; is there something in your life that you are fearful of?  I want to encourage you lean into Jesus and trust His promises for you.  His love is perfect, He loves you with an everlasting love!  When the enemy brings fear into your life cast it off with God’s perfect love towards you.  If God, the Creator of the Universe is for you who then can be against you?

Ephesians 3:14-19 (MSG) My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.

Be blessed my friends!

1 Peter 4:

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

As we continue to grow at Antioch, there are many ways you can serve here in our body of believers and in our beautiful community of San Miguel. God’s word tells us that we have not because we ask not. Antioch is growing numerically and this is a wonderful blessing and brings many opportunities to serve and give. Here are a few of our needs. Consider praying, seeking and asking God how you can use your gifts to serve Him and others in the kingdom of God.
