“The Spirit of God”

Next month our scripture writing will be on this subject, “the Spirit of God.” But as we will see in today’s verse it is God’s Spirit that allows us and gives us the ability to be strong and courageous.

Father, I pray in the Name of Jesus, may we all rest, trust and walk in the assurance of Your truth! Every one of Your promises are yes and amen! Therefore we not only receive strength but also victory through Your promises. We are not striving to be victorious, we are thriving because in You we are already victorious! Thank You for the finish work of Jesus. Thank You for giving us the right to become Your children!!

Romans 8:14-15

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Romans chapter 8 is such a powerful chapter. I want to encourage you to take a moment and read the entire chapter. Ask the Lord to open your eyes, ears and hearts to receive all that He has for you. If you have time also go read Ephesians chapters 1 and 2. These three chapters really describe the victory we have received through Jesus Christ. They offer hope, encouragement and power!

Today’s scripture talks about all who are led by the Spirit. Being led by the Spirit is your personal decision, we must be willing to submit to the Lord. Earlier in verse 6 we are told letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death, but letting the Spirit lead your mind leads to life and peace. What we clearly see is God giving us a choice. When we let the Spirit lead us, this will demonstrate we are children of God. God’s Spirit does not produce fear, NO it produces confidence that we are God’s children, we are heirs of Christ. We have received everything we need to live a godly life! We are victories and we can boldly come into the Lord’s presence. We can boldly proclaim, He is mine and I am His! We can come into the presence of Almighty God and call Him Abba Father (Daddy).

My friends, rejoice and be glad for this is the day the Lord has made! Take every opportunity to glorify God and make Him known! Blessings!
