“Love and Honor One Another”
Grace to you my family and friends. I have missed writing to all of you. I have been traveling over the last few days so I have not been given the opportunity to write. I hope you have been taking the time to read, write and meditate on our daily scriptures. But most of all I hope you have spent time with our incredible God and Father. He loves us so much and resting in His presence, trusting in His promises and walking in His power is the only way to live an abundant and satisfying life!
Today’s scripture is a familiar one with our family at Antioch. For an entire year we studied and explored Romans 12. It is such a powerful chapter in the scriptures. The Apostle Paul writes some very simple instructions, when I say simple I mean to understand. The only way to accomplish these instructions is through our Lord Jesus Christ. Unless you humble yourself under God’s mighty power it will be utterly impossible to do.
Romans 12:10 & 16
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
I need to get back on the road so let me make this short, sweet and to the point. We are told to love one another like Christ loves us. Therefore Paul is speaking about a genuine love, a love that is described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NOTHING LESS! Why are we called to such a love, we can’t do it without Jesus! God our Father wants us to lean unto Him as we walk through this life. If we rely on ourselves we will fail. My friends, please don’t think you can love like Jesus without Jesus, it is impossible! Paul also tells us to take delight in honoring one another. I love this because to take delight means we find ways, we go out of our way to honor one another. It means we are always looking for the best in one another so that we can genuinely love and honor them. As we diligently love and honor one another we will live in harmony with one another. We will stop being so concerned with ourselves (Humility) and live in peace and harmony with each other. Seriously how cool would that be?
My brothers and sisters, please take some time to really think about these words today. Jesus prayed that as God’s children we would be one with Him and one another. Jesus died to save us, He has given us the right to become God’s children. Let’s honor and glorify Him by loving, honoring and living in harmony with each other. Have a super, blessed day!
