“Humility leads to Transformation”

Humble yourself under the mighty power of God (His Love) and at just the right moment He will lift you up. As followers of Jesus the more we are willing to humble ourselves the more transformation we will experience.

The Bible has been teaching man forever, God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts. Yet we continue to attempt to make God in our image rather than accepting that we are made in His image. We are told to become like Him. At best we become behavior managers rather than humbling ourselves before a perfect and loving Creator letting Him transform us into His image. We use our weaknesses as excuses rather than abiding in Christ and walking in His power.

Once again in today’s scripture the Apostle Paul gives us some clear instructions how to avoid this kind of thinking. He is only repeating the words of Christ found in Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

Galatians 6:14-15

As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died. 15 It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.

During this time there were people claiming to preach the truth but unfortunately they were preaching a false doctrine. It was a doctrine that turned the people to themselves rather than to Jesus. This teaching is still alive and well throughout the churches today.

The Apostle Paul before He became a follower of Jesus was a very religious person. The scriptures tell us that he was a Pharisee of all Pharisees. He was trained in the scriptures and the laws. He followed them to the letter even to the point of wanting to destroy those following Jesus because he believed they were wrong. Paul is a great example of someone who obtained a lot of knowledge of God but did not know God. Until Jesus presented Himself to Paul on the road to Damascus. It was then Paul’s life began to transform because he willingly humbled himself and let God do His work.

The Apostle Paul is writing today’s scripture through experience. The moment he came face to face with Jesus Christ the King of all kings, his life was never the same. That one experience completely transformed his life. His identity changed, his purpose changed and his destiny changed! He no longer cared about the religious system and after he was walking with Christ the religious system no longer cared for him either. He lost his interest in following the law of man because he experienced the grace of Jesus. And at the end of any day what really matters is the transformation Christ can make in our lives.

My brothers and sisters attempting to be a better person through good works is exhausting! You must be willing to humble yourself under God’s mighty power and let Him transform you!
