Holy Spirit: God in us Day 3
My Father in heaven, blessing and honor are all Yours. Thank You for this new day, it is a gift from You. I pray that we will all rejoice and be glad in it. I pray for all who will join me today as we seek Your face with all of our hearts. I ask You to bless each one according to Your love and truth. Thank You for opening our eyes and giving us understanding of Your Word. Thank You for never giving up on us and continuing to work in us for Your glory. I pray that we will all remain focused on You, walking in Your Spirit for Your glory. In Jesus Name I pray, AMEN!!
I hope that you have been blessed throughout the last fifteen days of this study. As I said in yesterday’s sermon, I believe that we are not living or experiencing the full potential of God’s Spirit living in us. To many Christians are living with anxiety, fear, lack of identity and purpose. The truth is; to many are living in defeat rather than walking in the victory Jesus provided for us. The saddest part for me, so many have come to believe it is normal, it is just a part of life. I simply want to say, you are believing a lie! Jesus came to give you life, an abundant and satisfying life. Jesus came to set you free from the power of sin and death! My friends it is time to listen to the Voice of Truth rather than the lies of the enemy!
John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
Jesus is teaching His disciples about the coming Helper, The Holy Spirit. In today’s verse Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Truth. Remember the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, therefore it is Truth. The Spirit can’t lie, why? We see the answer in this one verse spoken by Jesus. He (Holy Spirit) will guide you in ALL truth. He will not speak on His own but will only tell you what He has heard.
When you hear from the Holy Spirit He will ALWAYS be aligned with God’s Word. The Holy Spirit will NEVER contradict God’s truth! Therefore we can trust Him, we can walk in the Spirit knowing that He will lead us in truth and love! As a child of God we have been given God’s Spirit to know God’s truth and His will so that our lives will bring Him glory. The Spirit living in us is producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Read them again, what you don’t see is anxiety, fear or pride. These nine character traits or as scripture calls them “fruit.” These should be what people see and experience consistently in our lives. Letting the Spirit do His perfect work in us will allow us to live the lives that will bring glory to our Father in heaven.
If you are consistently negative, complaining, unhappy, fearful or critical, I would encourage you to seek the Lord. This is not the life He has for you. In Christ, He has given you a new identity, you are no longer a slave to your old nature. Listen to the Spirit the Truth and let Him transform the way you think!!
