“God guides the Humble”
You have heard me quote the words of King David found in Psalm 32, The Lord says; “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” The Lord also assures His children, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God can only lead us if we are willing to follow. I know this should be obvious but I also know we have an enemy and he wants to deceive and distract us.
I believe this is why it is so important to study what God says about humility. If humility is the catalyst for a faith that pleases God (which I believe it is) we should pay close attention. Today we look at a few more words written by King David. We all know that King David’s life was not perfect but he was considered a man after God’s own heart. I believe we can learn a lot through David’s victories and failures!
Psalm 25:8-10
The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. 9 He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. 10 The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
The words of King David written in this Psalm was for protection, guidance and forgiveness. David acknowledged his enemies and asked the Lord for protection. But He also knew that protection would only come if he trusted and obeyed in the Lord and His ways.
In our verse today David declares, “the Lord is good and does what is right.” This statement is 100% true ALL THE TIME! God will never do what is wrong, He can’t lie and He can’t sin! God is willing to forgive those who stray and point them in the right direction. But only if and when they humble themselves before Him. If we want to do our own thing, God will allow us but don’t expect His protection and guidance. The Lord will always lead us with unfailing love and faithfulness but only if we are willing to trust and obey.
My brothers and sisters, this is the problem with our flesh and desires. When we submit to our flesh God has no responsibility to lead or guide us. We will be trusting and walking in our own direction and desires. Therefore we will reap according to what we sow. God loves you and me, He wants the very best for us. He invites us to be His children, partner and friend. When we are willing to humble ourselves, trust and obey Him we are blessed with His divine presence, power, protection and provision! We will never receive God’s best for our life until we are willing to humble ourselves under His mighty power!
Love…Humility…Trust…Obey…Blessings!
