“Daily Prayer”
Thank you for your prayers as I traveled to the US. Our trip went well although a little longer than I anticipated. We took a little time to rest and regroup today before we continue and journey north.
I wanted to share a quick word with you before the day ended. Today’s scripture is one that I pray quite frequently. The truth is we should all be praying this daily. It is short and yet extremely powerful.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
This is a simple prayer spoken by King David, a man after God’s own heart. These words are spoken in response to God’s incredible creation and His salvation. They are also spoken because David recognize and confessed His own sin and struggles.
This month we are talking about humble speech. We also learned, our words reflect our hearts. Therefore we also need to meditate on the things of God so will glorify God. When we choose to listen and focus on the things of God’s Kingdom our words will be filled with love and grace. They will be pleasing to God!
Notice the titles David calls God; Lord, Rock and Redeemer. The Lord represents God’s total authority over ALL! Rock represents that God is our foundation, He is our creator, He is our truth. Redeemer is what God has done for us. He paid the price through the blood of Jesus Christ His One and Only Son! It has been paid in full and it is finished, yesterday, today and FOREVER!
God has given us the right to be His sons and daughters Therefore our response should be a willingness to humble ourselves and speak words that will please God and build one another up! My friends, I pray that we will all pray these words. Blessings!!
