“Forgiven”
In God’s perfect and complete love we are forgiven! I know I am repeating this a lot, I pray we are not only believing it but walking in this incredible gift. The freedom and power we have received through Christ Jesus is endless.
Our responsibility is to accept this forgiveness from God and extend it to others. When we do God will work miracles!
Ephesians 4:30-32
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Paul is writing to the Church of Ephesus. His words are the inspired Words of God which we can also read. I love the Book of Ephesians, the first three chapters concentrates on what God has done for us. The second three chapters instructs us how we should respond for all He has done.
In verse 30 Paul is basically telling believers, do what is right in the eyes of God. Otherwise you will bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit. Why would we want to do that since the Holy Spirit identifies us with the Father and salvation. He guarantees our identity, purpose and destiny!
Therefore, take a moment and do a little self evaluation and inventory. What is your attitude like, does it reflect the world or Jesus Christ? Are you quick to be loving, kind and forgiving? Or do you find yourself losing your temper and patience with others? The simply truth, your attitude and behavior reveals which spirit you are walking in. If you find yourself being unkind, bitter or angry, stop, acknowledge it and make a decision to walk in God’s Spirit rather than your flesh. If you find yourself extending love, kindness and peace. Rejoice and simply say “Thank You Jesus!”
