“Ready to Forgive”
Psalm 86:5
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Today we are beginning with our daily reading. Psalm 86 is a powerful and beautiful prayer written by King David. I would encourage you to read all of it. Throughout it David is requesting the Lord’s help in many different areas of His life. But here in verse 5 David simply makes a statement.
Lord You are good, so ready to forgive! Today Antioch is having a Good Friday Service to remember and reflect on the death of Jesus Christ. Jesus was sent to die to demonstrate God’s unfailing love towards the world. He demonstrated His goodness and willingness to forgive the sin of every man, woman and child. He invites anyone, everyone to believe and receive eternal life. God is ALWAYS eager to help those who are willing to ask.
Many people I speak with see God as the opposite of what was just written. They see God as harsh, holding their failures and shortcomings against them. The Bible and the example of those who have believed does not support this lie. The love, salvation and forgiveness of God is a gift from God. We can’t earn it and we don’t deserve it. This is the reason it is so powerful!
The scriptures teach us, love covers a multitude of sin. Regardless of your situation at this moment. You are loved more than you can imagine and through the death and resurrection of Jesus you are forgiven and God is eager to help you right now! You simply need to believe and ask Him. Blessings my friends!
I want to encourage anyone who is able to attend the Good Friday Service at Antioch today to come and participate. I promise, you will be blessed! It begins at 6:00, I hope to see all of you!!
