“An Abundance of Power and Promises”

Today is the last day of March therefore we are finishing our study on the abundance of God in every believers life.  My hope and prayer, if you are a follower of Jesus Christ you will realize in Him you lack nothing. He has finished the work for our salvation and He will provide all we need as we diligently seek Him and do wat is right.

Our scripture today is one of my favorite because it wipes away every excuse we can possible think of to walk in our flesh and do what we want. This scripture forces us to take responsibility of our own decisions and behaviors.

2 Peter 1:3-4

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Is God ALL powerful, is there anything too difficult for Him to do? Do you believe God is active and working in every believer’s life? If you said yes I want to encourage you to read verse 3 again and again. My friends write it down, let this truth not only get into your head but hide it in your heart! The next time the enemy, your flesh or even someone else tells you following Jesus or loving your spouse or doing what is right is difficult. Please proclaim, “God has given me EVERYTHING I need to live a Godly life, I LACK NOTHING!” You received all of it because you know Jesus, the One who called you by name!

God has given His children an abundance of promises and the opportunity to be His partners. We can share in the divine nature of Almighty God. We are given these promises so that we can escape the corruption of this world. My brothers and sisters we can live in this world without getting caught up in the darkness. These are not words spoken to pump us up before the big game or words for momentary excitement. They are words of truth spoken by our Father in Heaven, declaring the abundant life He has provided through His Son and Spirit  to all who will believe in Jesus.

Don’t miss the abundant and satisfying life Jesus wants you to have; No more excuses!!
