“Abundant Grace”
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see! Most of us have sung this song or at least heard it. The origin of this great song is quite interesting, I would encourage you to look it up. But ultimately this song was written because someone experienced the incredible, amazing grace of God!
God’s grace is not only amazing it is abundant. Which simply means we are given grace upon grace. The Apostle John writes, “And of His (Jesus) fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.” God’s grace does not run out it is abundant, my only response is thank You Jesus!!
Ephesians 1:7-10
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.
These four scriptures are packed full of encouraging and powerful truths. I probably should have broken them up in two days but let’s dig in and see what God has to say to us.
Paul begins by reminding his readers, God is so rich in kindness and grace! He proved it by purchasing our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins. The moment we are born we are born into a sinful world therefore we are born sinners. The wages of sin is death. But in God’s amazing grace and kindness He paid the price by sending Jesus as a perfect sacrifice to take our place. On that cross every man, woman and child was showered with the incredible kindness of God. He also was willing to give those who place their faith in Jesus all wisdom and understanding.
He has opened our eyes to His mysterious plan regarding Christ, God will fulfill His own good plan. I love this statement, my friends it is ALL about God’s plans not ours. One day God will bring everything and everyone under the authority of Jesus Christ. The scriptures make it very clear that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of all lords and King of all kings.
Today we live in a time of grace, God is giving us the opportunity to believe and follow Him. The work of salvation has been completed, finished on the cross. Our responsibility is to believe! Belief in Jesus will always produce transformation in the believers heart. It is impossible to believe in Jesus and remain the same. Just as Jesus our Savior is full of kindness and grace. We should also be full of kindness and grace.
Jesus told all of us, freely you have received, freely give! Don’t miss the opportunities God will give you today to extend His amazing and abundant grace! Blessings my friends!!
