“Abundant Inheritance 2”
The Lord is good and His everlasting love endures forever! It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to His name! Seriously stop whatever you are doing and think about all the Lord has done for you and give Him thanks.
In today’s scripture we are reminded again of the great inheritance we have received from God through Jesus. This is such an important principle for believers to understand. Our identity is connected to our inheritance and trusting in our inheritance helps us to walk in victory today!
Galatians 3:26-29
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
The Apostle Paul writes, “for you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” It is ONLY by believing in the finish work of Christ anyone can become a child of God. We are not born children of God, we begin as God’s creation, born into sin. We are identified as children of this world and our father is satan. Our purpose is to serve ourselves and this world. Our destiny is hell, separation from God for all of eternity. But God who loves this world sent Jesus to die so that anyone who believes in Christ can have eternal life, it is God who gives us the right to become His children.
Through baptism we have been united with Christ and one another. Christ becomes our identity, we become children of God, co-hiers with Christ. Our purpose is to glorify God our Father and our destiny is to be with Him for all of eternity in Heaven. You see how believing in Christ completely transforms your life. Notice the wording of the Apostle Paul, “you belong to Christ!” Every child of God has been bought with a price, the blood of Jesus, God’s only begotten Son! Therefore we can expect to not only inherit the Kingdom of Heaven but we also have the opportunity to partake in all of God’s promises.
My friends, don’t miss this incredible truth, don’t take it for granted. When we rest, trust and walk in our identity and inheritance we will experience victory. We will proclaim, “if God is for me, who can be against me!” Again, take a moment to thank God for this incredible truth. Have a blessed day and don’t forget to embrace who you are in Jesus!
