“Abundant Provision”
For the next few days we will look at God’s Word concerning this subject. Jesus told us I have come to give you life, life abundant and satisfying. This is truly our Father’s desire, He wants to give His children good gifts. He proved this when He gave Jesus, His one and only Son to die for sinners.
Throughout scripture God gives us countless promises, guaranteed gifts that we will received if we are willing to partner and participate with Him. Today we will look at a verse giving us an incredible promise. As I said on Sunday this verse is one of my life’s verse, a foundational truth that I have found faithful for many years.
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
For an entire year we learned about the power of becoming God’s partners. When we do so we receive incredible promises from our Father in Heaven. My friends I could write countless times in my life when I claimed this promise and God provided what I needed. Trust me, I’m not perfect but I do genuinely seek God first in my life.
Most of you know I received Jesus when I was 27 years old. Before Christ I was my own God, if I needed something I attempted to get it, if I wanted something to happen I would attempt to make it happen. I lived life my way on my terms. I wish I could tell you that this is an exaggeration, but it is not. This was my life and I can tell you it was exhausting. Unfortunately I really didn’t know anything else so it seemed normal. This is the reason we’re told in scripture to let the Spirit transform the way we think. I tell you this little fact about my life to help you understand the reason I seek God first. For so many years I sought myself and life was chaotic, confusing and frustrating. But when I began to live according to this principle and promise I experienced peace, joy and blessings!
God loves you and He wants the very best for you. But He will also allow you to do your own thing and suffer the consequences. Some of you are exhausted and frustrated because you continue to attempt to do things your way, on your own. Your Father in Heaven is inviting you to be His partner and participate in ALL of His promises.
Today He is asking you to seek Him first above all else and do what is right! If you choose to do this He will give you EVERYTHING you need! Seriously if you are struggling even a little bit believing this, try it, what do you have to lose?
Father, thank you for ALL of Your precious promises. These promises invite us to share in Your divine nature and to overcome the evil in this world. I pray for my brothers and sisters who maybe having doubts and fears at this moment. You have promised love, joy, peace and hope through your Spirit. May we all faithfully walk in Your Spirit and receive all you have for us today! Thank You Jesus, AMEN!
