Pride vs Contentment

I hope the first day of this New Year was full of joy and blessings. Take a moment and look at today’s title one more time. Think about it, meditate upon it, what does this mean to you? Are the two connected, can they make a significant difference in your life?

My friends during my personal time with the Lord I explored this contrast. My only conclusion is WOW! I thought I had Sunday’s message finished but I am sure the Lord is leading me in a little different direction. Then reading today’s scripture verse I am convinced!

Job 1:20-22

Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. 21 He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” 22 In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.

My brothers and sisters, we can learn so much from these three short verses. One of the reasons I love the Word of God so much. It is all woven together complimenting and confirming itself. Why? Because it is all about the same person, every story, every promise, every character, every example is all about God Almighty. He maybe presented to us as our Father, as Jesus our Savior or the Holy Spirit our teacher, guide and comforter. But it is always about the Creator of the Universe, The Great I Am!

I am thankful for all of you who take the time to read the daily devotions God gives me each day. But you will need to join me Sunday to receive additional teaching on today’s scripture. I promise you it will be worth your time to come this Sunday or join us online. I am so excited personally and for Antioch.

I love you and I thank God for your lives! Blessings!!
