“God’s Guarantee”
Every man, woman and child is born into sin. The scriptures clearly tell us that we have all sinned and fall short of God’s glory. In Romans 3 we are given a detailed description of who we are without God. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.”
“Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” “Snake venom drips from their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “They rush to commit murder. Destruction and misery always follow them. They don’t know where to find peace.” “They have no fear of God at all.”
But God demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners and sent Jesus Chist to die for our sin. For all who believe in Christ Jesus have been given God’s guarantee!
Ephesians 1:13-14
And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
The Apostle Paul is speaking to the Gentiles. The Gentiles were everyone else in the world that were not Jews. They were looked upon as wicked people, people that could not be saved, by God’s chosen people. But remember the Word of God tells us that God so loved the world and this included the Gentiles.
Paul tells the Gentiles, you have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you! Therefore salvation was not only for the Jews but was available for all people. Therefore when someone believes God Himself identifies them as His own! My friends if this doesn’t excite you, something is wrong! God Almighty says to you personally, YOU ARE MINE! To prove and guarantee it I am giving you My Spirit to live in You. I will be with you now and forever so that you will never need to doubt My love, provision, protection or the fact that you will be with Me in eternity! I purchased you through the blood of my Son Jesus Christ so that you will know that I am your God and you are My child!
Therefore My children come into my presence with thanksgiving and praise. Shout it from the mountains, the streets, the housetops that Jesus Christ is Lord! He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one can come to the Father except through Him!
GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD! FOR HE IS GREAT! HIS FAITHFUL LOVE ENDURES FOREVER!
