“New Strength”
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is with you! Maybe you woke up this morning tired and worn out. We are given good news in today’s scripture. This is a scripture that has been near to my heart for many years. It is a Word from the Lord that is packed full of promise, power and provision. The Lord is only looking for one thing in return!
Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
The first thing I see when I read these words, weakness, exhaustion and lack of power has no respecter of person. Anyone at anytime can become tired! It also does not require the reason we are tired. The truth of this scripture is not about us but about the love of our Lord!
What I see, we will get tired, we will get exhausted, we will need help! Praise the Lord, He wants to help. But He does require one thing, “trust Him.” When we trust the Lord He will give us new strength. He compares this strength to soaring high on eagles wings or running a race and not becoming weary. The Apostle Paul refers to life in Christ as a race. We are told to faithfully finish the race. How do we accomplish it, trusting in the Lord.
This is a wonderful example of how our three principles work. Rest in God’s presence, trust in God’s promises, walk in God’s power. In the presence of Jesus there is rest! When we choose to trust in His promises there is great provisions and blessings. As we rest and trust it allows us to walk in the Lord’s power rather than our own.
Today you can continue to walk in your own strength and provision but I assure you it will only lead to weakness and exhaustion. Trust in Jesus and let His strength be yours, you will accomplish so much more! He will lead you down the best pathway for your life! Blessings.
